You'll arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and be transferred to your hotel in Moshi or Arusha, where you'll have a briefing with your trekking guide and have time to rest before the adventure begins.
Altitude: Moshi/Arusha, approx. 900m; Mti Mkubwa Camp, approx. 2,650m
The trek starts at Londorossi Gate, where you'll complete registration and meet the trekking team. The trail leads through lush rainforests to the first camp, Mti Mkubwa, where you'll spend the night.
Altitude: 2,650m to approx. 3,500m
The trek continues through the rainforest until you reach the heath and moorland zones. You'll pass through the Shira Plateau and set up camp at Shira 1 Camp, offering stunning views of Mount Meru and Kibo.
Altitude: 3,500m to approx. 3,900m
The day involves a relatively short trek, allowing for further acclimatization. You'll hike through a landscape of volcanic rock and reach Shira 2 Camp, located beneath the Western Breach of Kilimanjaro.
Altitude: 3,900m to 4,600m (Lava Tower) and descend to 3,950m (Barranco Camp).
Today, you'll climb to Lava Tower before descending to Barranco Camp. This helps with acclimatization by sleeping at a lower altitude despite the day's high point at Lava Tower.
Altitude: 3,950m to approx. 4,200m
The trek takes you through the famous Barranco Wall, a thrilling scramble. Afterward, you'll reach Karanga Camp, situated on a ridge with panoramic views.
Altitude: 4,200m to approx. 4,600m
The trail leads to Barafu Camp, the final base camp before the summit push. Take this day to rest, hydrate, and prepare for the summit attempt.
Altitude: 4,600m to 5,895m (Uhuru Peak) and descend to approx. 3,100m (Mweka Camp).
The summit attempt begins in the early hours of the morning to reach Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. After celebrating your achievement, you'll descend to Mweka Camp for a well-deserved rest.
Altitude: Approx. 3,100m to 1,650m
The final day of the trek leads through the lush rainforest to Mweka Gate, where you'll receive your summit certificate. You'll then be transferred back to your hotel in Moshi or Arusha to celebrate the successful summit.
Take a day to relax, enjoy a hot shower, and explore the towns of Moshi or Arusha.
You'll be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure.
