Altitude: Marangu Gate (1,860 meters) to Mandara Hut (2,700 meters)
Trekking Time: About 4-5 hours
Event: Start your trek at the Marangu Gate, where you'll register and begin your ascent through the rainforest. Reach Mandara Hut, a collection of basic huts with sleeping accommodations.
Altitude: Mandara Hut (2,700 meters) to Horombo Hut (3,720 meters)
Trekking Time: About 6-7 hours
Event: Continue through the moorland and eventually cross the saddle between Kibo and Mawenzi peaks. Horombo Hut will be your stop for the night.
