The Umbwe route is a challenging and scenic 6-day trek to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. It is one of the shorter routes, which can make it physically demanding due to the rapid ascent. The success rate for reaching the summit of Uhuru Peak is lower compared to longer routes like Machame or Lemosho. The Umbwe route is considered one of the most difficult paths to the summit. It involves steep and strenuous sections, requiring good physical fitness, acclimatisation, and mental endurance. Trekkers should be prepared for long hiking days and varying weather conditions. Mount Kilimanjaro stands at an impressive 5,895 metres (19,341 feet) above sea level. The Umbwe route takes you through lush rainforests, moorlands, and alpine deserts, culminating in a challenging summit.
The cost of the 6-day Umbwe Route trek varies depending on the tour operator and the level of service provided. On average, the price ranges from $1,650 to $3,500 per person, including park fees, guide and porter services, accommodation, and meals during the climb. The price varies depending on the accommodations before and after the climb, the number of people on a group climb, and the luxury or budget climbing services required. Six days of Kilimanjaro fees and costs are paid in Dollars, Pounds, Euros, and Tanzanian Shillings.
