Altitude: 1,800m (5,905 ft) to 2,850m (9,350 ft)
The trek begins at the Umbwe Gate, where you'll register and meet your guide and porters. The hike to Umbwe Camp is relatively short but steep, passing through dense rainforest. Expect to see a variety of flora and possibly some wildlife.
Altitude: 2,850m (9,350 ft) to 3,950m (12,960 ft)
This day involves a challenging ascent through the moorland. You'll experience a significant change in vegetation as you reach higher altitudes. The camp at Barranco is situated in a stunning valley beneath the famous Barranco Wall.
Altitude: 3,950m (12,960 ft) to 4,035m (13,200 ft)
Today, you'll conquer the Barranco Wall, a challenging yet thrilling climb. Afterward, the trail descends into Karanga Valley before ascending again to Karanga Camp. The scenery becomes increasingly sparse and surreal.
Altitude: 4,035m (13,200 ft) to 4,600m (15,100 ft)
The trek to Barafu Camp is relatively short, but the altitude gain is significant. You'll pass through a barren landscape with stunning vistas of the surrounding peaks. Barafu Camp serves as the base camp for the summit attempt.
Altitude: 4,600m (15,100 ft) to 5,895m (19,341 ft) and then descent to 3,100m (10,170 ft).
The summit day! You'll begin the ascent in the middle of the night to reach Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. It's a challenging and exhausting climb, but the sunrise view from the top is absolutely worth it. Afterward, descend to Mweka Camp for the night.

The final day of the trek takes you through the lush rainforest, where you'll likely encounter monkeys and various bird species. Once you reach Mweka Gate, you'll sign out and receive your summit certificates before heading back to Arusha or Moshi.
