Begin the trek at the Machame Gate, enter Kilimanjaro National Park, and hike through the lush rainforest to Machame Camp.

Ascend through the moorland, enjoying the heather-covered slopes, and camp at Shira Camp.

Ascend to Barafu Camp, the last camp before the summit attempt. Rest and prepare for the summit night.

Hiking distance: 15km (9.3 miles) ascent, 12km (7.5 miles) descent
Time: 6–8 hours to reach the summit, 5-7 hours to descend to Mweka Camp
Start the summit attempt around midnight, reach the summit (Uhuru Peak) at sunrise, then descend to Mweka Camp for the night.
Elevation: 3,100m (10,170ft) to 1,640m (5,380ft)
Hiking distance: 10km (6.2 miles).
Time: 3–4 hours
Descend through the rainforest to Mweka Gate, where you'll receive your summit certificates and say goodbye to your climbing team.
Transfer back to Moshi or Arusha for celebrations and some well-deserved rest.
