Day 1: Lemosho Gate to Mti Mkubwa

01

Departing from Moshi. You can reach Kilimanjaro National Park Gate after a pleasant 45-minute drive through alpine settlements. We will observe the commotion of activity as numerous teams get ready for the voyage ahead as we wait amiably for our permits to be issued. While your guide informs you about the local flora, fauna, and wildlife, you may take in the breathtaking panorama of the rainforest and its winding trails. This lower altitude can make the trail muddy and extremely slick. Trekking poles and gaiters are highly recommended here.

Acommodation: Mti Mkubwa Camp

Day 2: : Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira 1 Camp

02

Following a restful night's sleep and a satisfying breakfast, you will leave the jungle and proceed along a trail that ascends. You will leave the forest behind. To get to the Shira Plateau's rim, the trail progressively climbs while offering expansive views as Temperatures start to decrease.

Acommodation: Shira 1 Camp

Day 3: Shira 1 Camp to Shira 2 Camp

03

You will spend an entire day exploring the Shira plateau. Shira 2 Camp is located on moorland meadows along a stream after a leisurely stroll eastward towards the glaciated mountain of Kibo and across the plateau. Next, you'll proceed to Moir Hut, a small, frequently visited location at the foot of Lent Hills. Lent Hills offers a wide range of treks, which makes it a great place to get acclimated. One of the highest plateaus on Earth is Shira.

Acommodation: Shira 2 Camp

Day 4: Shira 2 Camp to Barranco Camp

04

This is a crucial day for acclimatization even though you finish the day at roughly the same elevation as you started. Proceeding eastward along a ridge from the Shira Plateau, you will cross the intersection and eventually reach the Kibo summit. After that, head southeast in the direction of the Lava Tower, also known as the "Shark's Tooth" (4650m/15,250ft). You will pass the tower and then a second intersection that goes to the Arrow Glacier. After that, you'll keep going downhill for the entire night at Barranco Camp.

Acommodation: Barranco Camp

Day 5: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

05

After morning meal, you will ascend the treacherous Barranco Wall on a steep ridge to reach the Karanga Valley and the intersection with the Mweka Trail. Observing your team's strength, power, and agility as they seemingly effortlessly zoom over this wall is one of the most spectacular sights of the day. You are going to spend the night at Karanga Camp.

Acommodation: Karanga Camp

Day 6: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

06

You have now finished the South Circuit, which provides a multitude of amazing views of the peak from numerous angles. Continue climbing towards Barafu Camp. You'll rest and eat dinner early in order to get ready for the summit night. You will spend the night at Barafu Camp.

Acommodation: Barafu Camp

Day 7: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp

07

As the morning breaks early, between midnight and 2:00 a.m., anticipation is growing. This is the hardest part of the walk, both physically and mentally. Congratulations, little by little. At this moment, you will have arrived at Uhuru Peak, the highest point in both Africa and Mount Kilimanjaro! You will celebrate with pictures, maybe some tears of joy, and then take a minute to bask in the glory of this amazing achievement. You will start your steep descent towards Mweka Camp, with a quick break for lunch at Barafu. For slippery, loose gravel and areas covered in volcanic ash, we highly advise using gaiters and hiking poles. You can enjoy your last evening on the mountain with some well-earned relaxation. Your stay of the night will be at Mweka Camp.

Acommodation: Mweka Camp

Day 8: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate

08

It's time to say farewell to everyone on your team after breakfast and a sincere ceremony of thanks and team building. After you reach the Mweka Park Gate, you will continue your descent to get your summit credentials. We strongly advise using gaiters and trekking poles because the terrain is hilly, muddy, and wet due to the significantly warmer temperatures.

You will be picked up by a car at Mweka village and driven back to your Moshi hotel, which should take around thirty minutes, from the gate.

Acommodation: Hotels in Moshi/Arusha
