The Machame Route Kilimanjaro Day Hike towards Machame Camp: The first camp requires daily hiking up to Machame Camp (11 km, 5 HRS) and returning on the same day via the Machame route. You will be able to take pictures and enjoy the entire adventure in a single day when hiking through the Montagne Forest and Vegetation Zone. Together with our knowledgeable mountain guide and a few porters to help carry the required supplies, you will ascend. It will take you around 45 minutes to reach Machame gate once you are driven about 35 km from Moshi/Arusha. Upon successful registration and payment of entrance, a valid hiking permit is obtained. The starting point for the hike will be Machame Gate, and the distance to Machame camp is 11km (22km round trip) which will take 5 hours for each direction.

You'll arrive in Moshi, Tanzania, and have a pre-climb briefing with your trekking company. You may also want to get some last-minute gear if needed.
Start your trek from the Machame Gate to Machame Camp (Approx. 10km, 5-7 hours) through lush rainforests. This is the first day of your climb.
In the evening, you will walk back to Machame Gate where the vehicle will transport back to your accommodation in Moshi.
