Today our safari adventure begins! After breakfast, pick up from your hotel in Arusha for the 2-hour drive to Tarangire National Park. The park is well known for its large elephant herds and abundance of ancient baobab trees (the largest trees in the continent). From the open roof of the vehicle we will experience the seasonal swamps, savanna and Tarangire River which is full of wildlife ranging from a large variety of birds to giraffes, impalas, zebras, lions, leopards, elands, warthogs and elephants. The picnic site has a spectacular view and we will enjoy our picnic lunch here before continuing with game viewing before heading to Fig Tree Lodge, where we will be able to relax and enjoy dinner and have an overnight.
After breakfast we will depart for Serengeti. A long and bumpy road will take you in about 4-5 hours of a fascinating game on route driving up the crater highlands towards the vast plains of Serengeti. We will stop for a picnic lunch before we check in the park for an afternoon drive. After catching the sunset, we will proceed to Seronera campsite for dinner and overnight.
Today we will wake up very early in the morning (around 6 am) for a sunrise game drive and to spot the animals when they are most active. We will then stop at a picnic site to enjoy breakfast in the bush and continue with the game drive before returning to the camp (around noon) for hot lunch. Then load the vehicle, depart camp and continue to Ngorongoro Highlands where we will have dinner and overnight at Simba campsite.
Today we will have an early breakfast and descend down into Ngorongoro crater immediately. This stunning place will offer you with almost every species of wildlife indigenous to East Africa including the rare black rhino – if we are lucky we might spot one. You will choose whether to have picnic lunch at Hippo Lake or hot lunch at the camp. We will then head back to Arusha. We expect to be back in town around 5pm, although we are flexible if there is a flight to catch.
