An Equator is an imaginary line that goes around the planet in the middle and other outer space bodies. It subdivides the planet into two, the Northern and Southern Hemisphere. That is how the North pole and the South pole come about with the 0 degrees latitude.

You will depart from Kampala and head for the equator along the Mpigi Masaka highway. Since it is a one day trip to the Equator, you will take your time and could set off by 7:30am. You will start off your journey/ safari traveling through the districts of Mpigi as your final destination will at Kayabwe on of the places the equator crosses Uganda. It's two hours drive, When you arrive there, you will be welcomed warmly by one of the tour guides who will at any time of the day elaborate how and why the equator is truly crossing through there.
He will point out where the 0 degrees latitude crosses, point out the southern hemisphere and also the northern hemisphere. With the help of the magnetic fields and the water used, he will show you that in the Northern pole, the water will sink out through the hole in the clockwise angle. However, in the southern pole, the water will sink down the hole in a counter-clockwise as caused by the magnetic fields. Go for lunch and drive back to Kampala

Our drive from Kampala through lake mburo national park to lake bunyonyi where we had our first night , it was so fun , lovely and enjoyable I felt so much at home then the next day we had gorilla trekking experience it was so beyond happiness ,much excitement watching those beautiful animals it was nice and we ended with a drive to queen Elizabeth national park we managed to see climbing lions and many more animals it was so interesting . Our guide Peter was good at driving ,so knowledgeable , friendly and helpful we really had so much with him and the hotels were all on point , smart , good staff and healthy meals with perfect views to nature I can't wait to do my next family safari with them again .
