Your adventure commences at the Marangu Gate (1,860 meters or 6,100 feet) early in the morning. After completing registration and permit formalities, the trek begins.

The trail leads you through the dense and enchanting rainforest, where an array of wildlife and bird species may accompany you on your journey. The ascent is gradual and enjoyable, allowing you to appreciate the natural beauty of Kilimanjaro.

After trekking for approximately 3–4 hours, you reach the Mandara Hut (2,700 meters or 8,860 feet). This cozy hut provides a perfect spot for a hot and satisfying lunch, reenergizing you for the rest of the hike.

Departing from Mandara Hut, you'll venture into the moorland zone, where the landscape transitions to a more open and rugged terrain. The trail offers captivating views of the surrounding landscape and distant peaks.

After approximately 5–6 hours of hiking, you arrive at the Horombo Hut (3,720 meters or 12,200 feet), your resting point for the night. The Horombo Hut is well equipped, providing a comfortable shelter, and the altitude encourages proper acclimatization for the summit attempt.

On the second day, the trek continues, and you wake up early to witness the magical sunrise over the African plains. After breakfast, you begin your descent back to the Marangu Gate.

The descent follows the same trail, giving you another chance to admire the diverse ecosystems and landscapes of Kilimanjaro. You'll pass through the moorland and lush rainforest, offering different perspectives of the mountain.

After around 5–6 hours of trekking, you arrive back at the Marangu Gate. Here, you'll receive a certificate to commemorate your accomplishment of reaching the Horombo Hut on Mount Kilimanjaro.
