After breakfast, you'll be driven to the Momella Gate (1,500 meters or 4,921 feet), the starting point of the Mount Meru trek. Complete registration and meet your experienced guides and porters.
The trek begins through the lush Montane rainforest, where you may encounter various wildlife, including colobus monkeys and an array of bird species.
As you ascend through the forest, the trail offers scenic beauty and a moderate challenge. After approximately 4-6 hours of trekking, you reach the Miriakamba Hut (2,514 meters or 8,250 feet), your overnight accommodation. Rest and prepare for the next day's climb.
Wake up early and enjoy a nourishing breakfast before continuing your ascent. The trail takes you through the heather and moorland zone, offering stunning views of the Meru Crater and the surrounding plains.
