Depart from Arusha early in the morning and drive to the Momella Gate, the starting point of the Mount Meru trek.
Complete registration and meet your trekking team, including guides, porters, and a cook.
Begin your trek through the lush montane forest, keeping an eye out for wildlife and birds.
Hike to Miriakamba Hut (2,514 metres), where you'll spend the night.
Total hiking time: Approximately 4-6 hours.
After breakfast, continue your ascent through the forest and into the heath and moorland zones.
Pass the impressive Fig Tree Arch and Maio Falls along the way.
Reach Saddle Hut (3,570 metres) for overnight rest and acclimatisation.
In the afternoon, you may opt for an acclimatisation hike to Little Meru (3,820 metres) before returning to Saddle Hut.
Total hiking time: Approximately 4-6 hours.
Wake up very early (around midnight) for a pre-dawn start to the summit attempt.
Begin your ascent to the summit of Socialist Peak (4,566 metres) with headlamps, ascending through steep slopes and rocky terrain.
Reach the summit just in time for a breathtaking sunrise over the plains below, and enjoy magnificent views of Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance.
Descend back to Saddle Hut for a brief rest and breakfast.
Continue the descent to Miriakamba Hut for a well-deserved rest.
Total hiking time: Approximately 10–12 hours.
After breakfast, start your final descent through the montane forest.
Arrive at the Momella Gate, where you'll sign out, receive certificates for your achievement, and say goodbye to your trekking team.
Transfer back to Arusha, where you can rest and reflect on your incredible Mount Meru trekking experience.
