After a hearty breakfast and another briefing session, we’ll drive to the Kilimanjaro National Park Gate, which takes about an hour. Here, we’ll register and officially begin our climb. The trail leads us through the lush rainforest to the Mandara encampment. Along the way, keep an eye out for diverse birdlife, towering Eucalyptus trees, and playful Colobus monkeys. If time permits, we’ll take a side trip to Maundi Crater for breathtaking views of Northern Tanzania and Kenya.

Leaving the rainforest behind, we ascend through the open moorlands towards the Horombo encampment. The views of Mawenzi and Kibo peaks are simply stunning. In the early hours of the morning, we embark on the final ascent to the summit. The terrain is steep and challenging, but the reward at Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa, is unparalleled. After soaking in the panoramic views, we descend back to Kibo Hut for a well-deserved rest before continuing down to Horombo encampment.
