Visit the largest mountain in Africa, which also holds the distinction of being the tallest free-standing mountain globally, standing at a remarkable elevation of 5895 meters. Its awe-inspiring grandeur and natural beauty make it a must-see destination for adventure enthusiasts.
The Marangu Route, also known as the “Coca-Cola Route,” is the oldest and most well-established climbing route on Mount Kilimanjaro, and it remains extremely popular mainly because it is the only route on the mountain that has hut accommodation for trekkers.

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be greeted and transported to Moshi town, often referred to as the primary entry point to Mount Kilimanjaro. Later, in the evening, meet with your guide to assess your gear, getting ready for the trek the next day.
After breakfast, depart Moshi for the southeast entrance of Kilimanjaro National Park, Marangu Gate, where check-in and registration await. Commence your Kilimanjaro ascent through lush woods and the vibrant rainforest, with opportunities to observe eucalyptus trees and diverse bird species. Keep watch for the elusive Colobus monkey, distinguished by its black or white fur, and ensure you have suitable equipment and footwear for the potentially wet and muddy low-altitude terrain.
On day 3, transition from woodland to expansive moorland, revealing the towering, jagged peaks of Mawenzi. Altitude sickness risks rise; stay vigilant and inform your guide of any symptoms. At Horombo Huts, settle in, relish Kibo's view, and await a well-deserved dinner.
An additional day at Horombo Huts aids acclimatization, with rest advised for any signs of illness or fatigue. If adjusted to altitude, trek to Mawenzi Hut for breathtaking Kibo and Mawenzi views or explore Zebra Rocks with a 310-meter ascent.
On this day, traverse diverse, visually captivating landscapes, from heath to arid highlands between Mawenzi and Kibo, where volcanic rocks dot the scenery. The demanding final stretch to Kibo Huts is steep and challenging. Prepare your gear and warm clothing for the impending peak ascent, keeping water in a thermos to prevent freezing. Early rest is essential, as tomorrow's trek demands a night's worth of energy for Kilimanjaro's ultimate challenge.
Around midnight, after a small meal, embark on the nightly hike, navigating challenging terrain scattered with loose rocks. The goal: Gilman’s Point by dawn for a glorious view, then proceed along the crater's edge to Uhuru, the highest point on Kibo. Depending on the season, snow may greet you at Uhuru Peak, 5,895 meters high – Africa's zenith. Descending back to Kibo Huts, time passes swiftly. Rest and lunch follow before reaching Horombo Huts, where a well-deserved night's sleep awaits.
Descending through the rainforest to Marangu Gate, we bid adieu to our mountain crew and savor lunch. Then, departing Mount Kilimanjaro National Park, we return to Arusha for a refreshing shower and a memorable farewell dinner.
