After registering at the Rongai Gate, the trek begins through farmland and forested areas. It is a relatively easy hike on the first day to Simba Camp, where you will spend the night.

The trail continues through moorland, offering scenic views of Kibo and the surrounding landscapes. The hike is moderate in difficulty and takes you to Kikelelwa Camp, where you will rest and acclimatize.

This day involves a steep ascent, crossing the Second Cave. The trail takes you through alpine meadows, offering glimpses of Mawenzi Peak. You will camp at Mawenzi Tarn, which is located beneath the towering Mawenzi Peak.

This day is set aside for acclimatization. You can take short hikes in the surrounding areas or simply rest at the camp to prepare for the challenging days ahead.

The trail takes you across the lunar-like desert terrain of the Saddle, a vast plain that lies between Mawenzi and Kibo. You will reach Kibo Hut, a base camp situated at the bottom of Kibo's crater wall. Rest early, as the summit attempt begins later at night.

The summit attempt usually starts around midnight. The challenging ascent to Uhuru Peak is done in the dark, and you'll reach the summit just before sunrise. After celebrating your achievement, you will descend back to Kibo Hut for a short rest before continuing down to Horombo Hut for the night.

The final day of the trek involves descending through the rainforest from Horombo Hut to the Marangu Gate, where you will officially sign out. You'll receive a certificate of achievement and have the opportunity to celebrate your successful Kilimanjaro climb.
