Your journey begins at the Machame Gate, where you'll complete registration and meet your guides and porters. The trek starts in the lush rainforest, with a gradually ascending trail. You'll pass through a variety of vegetation zones and might spot different species of monkeys and birds along the way. The day's hike culminates at Machame Camp, where you'll spend your first night on the mountain.

Habitat: Moorland zone
The trail today becomes steeper as you ascend through the forest and into the moorland zone. The landscape transforms as you continue your climb. You'll eventually reach Shira Camp 2, where you'll have fantastic views of the Shira Plateau.

Habitat: Alpine desert
This day is designed for better acclimatization. You'll climb to the Lava Tower, which is at a relatively high altitude, and then descend to Barranco Camp. This descent helps your body adjust to the altitude by giving you a chance to sleep at a lower elevation.

The trail today involves some scrambling up the Barranco Wall, a rocky and challenging section. After conquering the wall, you'll trek through valleys and ridges to reach Karanga Camp. The shorter distance and moderate elevation gain provide more acclimatization opportunities.
This is the relaxation day that will be spent at Karanga Camp for the second time, although the enjoyment and experience are still there. The climbers and whole team will stay there, experiencing the weather, sharing different exposures of vegetation, and having a good time. Lunch and dinner will be there, accompanied by a restful night.

The path leads you to the alpine desert environment as you make your way to Barafu Camp, the high camp for your summit attempt. The terrain is rocky and less vegetated, and you'll notice the altitude more. Barafu Camp offers stunning views and serves as the starting point for the summit push.

Distance: 5km up and 12km down
Climbing time: 6–8 hours
Habitat: Artic Zone
This is summit day! You'll start your climb in the early hours of the morning to reach the summit, Uhuru Peak, around sunrise. The path takes you through Stella Point and along the crater rim. After celebrating your accomplishment, you'll descend back to Barafu Camp and then continue down to Mweka Camp for the night.

Climbing time: 4-5 hours
On the final day of your trek, you'll descend through the rainforest to the Mweka Gate. This is where you'll receive your summit certificates and say goodbye to your guides and porters. The descent offers a chance to reflect on your journey and marvel at the diverse landscapes you've experienced.
