The trek begins at Machame Gate, situated at 1800 meters. As you ascend through lush rainforests, the initial day covers around 10 kilometers, leading to Machame Camp at 2835 meters. This introductory hike eases you into the journey, offering glimpses of the beauty that lies ahead
From Machame Camp, the trail proceeds to Shira Camp, set at 3750 meters. The hike spans about 5 kilometers, gradually ascending through moorlands. The changing scenery introduces you to the alpine environment, providing a rewarding transition.
Day three involves a trek from Shira Camp to Barranco Camp, stopping at Lava Tower (4630 meters) for acclimatization en route. Covering approximately 10 kilometers, this day showcases the diverse landscapes of Shira Plateau before descending to Barranco Camp at 3900 meters.

Moving from Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp, situated at 4673 meters, this stage involves a hike of about 4 kilometers. The landscape becomes more rugged as you approach the high camp. Barafu Camp is the last stop before the summit push, and climbers rest early to prepare for the challenging ascent.
Starting in the predawn hours, the summit attempt begins from Barafu Camp. Climbers reach Stella Point (5756 meters) before sunrise, witnessing breathtaking vistas. From there, the path continues to Uhuru Peak (5895 meters), the highest point in Africa. Descending to Mweka Camp at 3100 meters, this day involves significant altitude changes and offers an unforgettable summit experience.
