Best 7 Day Kilimanjaro - Machame

The 7-day Machame route on Mount Kilimanjaro is the most popular trek, which starts at 7:37 a.m. from Moshi and 8 a.m. from Arusha. It covers a distance of approximately 62 kilometers (37 miles) and takes 7 days to complete the entire climb from trail head up to the summit and all the way down to Mweka gate. This popular route has paths through magnificent forests to gain a ridge leading through the moorland zones to the Shira Plateau. This 7-day Machame route has a fairly successful summit rate of 85 % to 87%, which enables you to conquer the highest free-standing mountain in the world at 5895 meters (19340 ft). This machine route is very beneficial to have 7 days to climb Mount Kilimanjaro because it has one more extra day for acclimatization and resting before the summit day. The Machame route approaches the summit from the southwest and descends using the Mweka route, rewarding climbers with views of the expansive Shira Plateau
