After breakfast, you’ll depart early for Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania’s most famous parks. The park is known for its massive herds of elephants, large baobab trees, and diverse birdlife. It covers approximately 2,850 square miles (7,000 square kilometers), making it one of the largest parks in Tanzania. The park’s vegetation includes acacia woodlands, baobab-studded savannah, and riverine forests, which provide habitat for a wide variety of animals including lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and buffalo. Tarangire also attracts large numbers of migratory birds, making it a birdwatcher’s paradise. You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch at one of the designated sites at 13:00, before continuing your game drive in the afternoon. In the evening, you will head to Martina Retreat Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay. The retreat is nestled in the beautiful highlands of Karatu, offering an idyllic setting to unwind after a day of wildlife viewing.
After breakfast at Martina Retreat, you will journey towards the world-famous Serengeti National Park via the Loduare Gate, entering the park in the western corridor. The Serengeti is one of the most iconic wildlife destinations in the world, covering 5,700 square miles (14,763 square kilometers). The park is renowned for the Great Migration, where millions of wildebeests and zebras move across the plains in search of food and water. However, Serengeti is home to far more than just migratory animals. The park hosts abundant wildlife year-round, including the Big Five—lions, elephants, leopards, buffaloes, and rhinoceros—along with cheetahs, hyenas, and giraffes. Its vast savannah plains are interspersed with woodlands, rivers, and kopjes (rocky outcrops), providing a variety of landscapes that support a wide range of species. After a full day of exploration, you will enjoy a picnic lunch at 13:00. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Heritage Tented Lodge, where you can enjoy a luxurious tented safari experience surrounded by nature.
On Day 4, you will explore the Eastern Serengeti, an area known for its dramatic landscapes and abundant wildlife. The terrain here varies from vast plains to rugged hills, providing excellent opportunities for wildlife sightings. The eastern region is less visited, making it perfect for those seeking a more intimate safari experience. It is also a prime spot for viewing cheetahs and lions, as well as large herds of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles. In addition, the Serengeti’s rivers and wetlands attract numerous bird species, making it a paradise for birdwatching enthusiasts. You will enjoy a picnic lunch at 13:00 before continuing your exploration into the heart of the Serengeti. After another full day of safari, you will return to Heritage Tented Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
On the final day of your safari, you will depart the Serengeti and head toward the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most extraordinary wildlife destinations in the world. Ngorongoro is a collapsed volcanic caldera, covering an area of approximately 102 square miles (264 square kilometers), with a depth of about 2,000 feet (610 meters). The crater floor is home to an incredible concentration of wildlife, including lions, elephants, wildebeests, zebras, and the endangered black rhino. After arriving at the crater, you will embark on a thrilling game drive, exploring the lush grasslands and salt pans that make up the crater floor. Lunch will be at a scenic picnic site at 12:00, and after a few more hours of wildlife exploration, you will exit the park at 15:00. Depending on your flight schedule, you will be transferred back to Arusha or directly to Kilimanjaro Airport for your departure. Your flight time will be confirmed based on your ticket details.
