You'll start your journey at Marangu Gate, where you'll register and meet your guides and porters. The trek begins through a lush rainforest, where you might spot colobus monkeys and various bird species. The first day's hike is relatively easy and takes around 4–5 hours to reach Mandara Hut, situated at an altitude of 2,700 meters (8,858 feet). You'll spend the night here.

The second day involves a longer trek through the rainforest and then into the heath and moorland zones. You'll pass the Maundi Crater and enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. The hike takes around 6–8 hours to reach Horombo Hut, located at an altitude of 3,720 meters (12,205 feet). This is where you'll spend your second night.

This day is dedicated to acclimatization, which helps your body adjust to the increasing altitude. You'll take a short trek to Zebra Rocks or explore the surrounding area. It's crucial to drink plenty of fluids and rest to prepare for the following day's ascent. You'll spend another night at Horombo Hut.

On the fourth day, you'll ascend further through the alpine desert zone. The landscape becomes more barren as you approach the saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. The hike takes around 6–8 hours to reach Kibo Hut, situated at an altitude of 4,700 meters (15,420 feet). This is the final stop before your summit attempt.

You'll wake up very early, usually around midnight, for the summit attempt. The climb to Uhuru Peak, the highest point on Kilimanjaro at 5,895 meters (19,341 feet), is challenging and steep. You'll reach the summit in time to witness the sunrise over the vast African plains. After spending some time at the summit, you'll descend back to Kibo Hut for a short rest before continuing down to Horombo Hut,and descend to Marangu gate.
