After breakfast, your driver-guide will collect you, and your safari will commence. You will drive from Arusha to Tarangire National Park. This takes approximately 2 hours. The name of the park originates from the Tarangire River that crosses through the park, being the only source of water for wild animals during dry seasons. The park is famous for its huge number of elephants, baobab trees and tree climbing African pythons. The park covers an area of approximately 2,850 square kilometers. You will enjoy a daylong of game viewing, with a picnic lunch looking out over the river to break up the time in the car. After a nice game drive before it gets dark you will drive to the lodge or campsite for dinner and overnight stay.
After an early breakfast at the lodge, you will drive down into the crater. The Ngorongoro Crater is the largest unbroken caldera and has unbelievable wildlife diversity. On the grass steppe and in the acacia tree woods, you will find almost all species that are found in the East African Savannah. You can observe the “big five” like lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard within a couple of hours. Later, you will drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Today you dive to Lake Manyara National Park for you final game view. In Manyara after having a picnic lunch you start the late afternoon game drive which is also the best time to view animals in this park. When you approach it from the East Rift Valley escarpment looms on the horizon forming an impressive back droid to the lake. In the tall trees of the ground water forest, monkeys leap from branch to branch, on the escarpment elephants stand in the shade. Other animals frequently seen are zebras, impalas, monkeys, giraffes, buffaloes, hippos and others. After lunch you will drive back to Arusha.
