Our guide will pick you up at Kilimanjaro International Airport and take you to our office in Arusha. As local Tanzanians, our guides know well the country and Arusha city, so you’ll be in good hands from when you arrive to the moment you leave. We always recommend sleeping in Arusha before the safari because we like to start our safaris early in the morning.
You will be picked up at your hotel in Arusha at 0800hrs and transferred to the Tarangire National Park to start off your game viewing experience in this magnificent park which is famous for its large collection of baobab trees, spectacular large mammal population, and variety of bird species, not to mention one of the largest concentration of elephants in the country. After your tour around the park, you will be transferred to the Fig big tree Lodge or Jambo lodge where you will be spending the night.
After an early breakfast, depart towards the most famous National park in the World, the Serengeti National Park. The driving itself, although long, is spectacular. This will be an unforgettable moment for anyone seeing it for the first time. As you progress well into the Serengeti, you will see why the name means, in the local language, "endless plains".
The name Serengeti originates from the Masai word Siringitu and means endless plains. You will see why the Masai gave this region this name as the grassland savannah stretches to the horizon in the south and is only interrupted by the so-called kopjes, These kopjes are bizarre rock formations formed by the weathering of granite outcrops.
The plains are the perfect hunting grounds for leopards and other big cats; you will have a good chance to view these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat through the open roof of the vehicle. In the afternoon, you will reach the destination for the day, the Seronera Valley in the central Serengeti area.
On this day we suggest a very early wake-up in order to do an early morning game drive (when the animals are more active) and see one of the best sunrises you'll ever witness. After the game drive, we return to the camp for a rewarding brunch, and then we'll head to Ngorongoro, the 8th wonder of the Natural World. The crater spreads for 102 sq. miles and has 2.000 ft high walls, making it virtually Noah's ark and inhabiting almost every species of wildlife that is indigenous to East Africa. It's one of the very rare locations in the whole continent where you can witness the Black Rhino. The crater has a river, several swamps, a soda lake with a great concentration of flamingos, a forest, and open plains. It's also famous for its elephants which, are the largest in the world and have huge tusks. Ngorongoro Crater is truly a Wonder of the Natural World. As soon as you have reached the edge of the crater, the caldera opens up before you and you will have a remarkable view of this impressive natural wonder. You will camp at Simba Campsite for the night on the crater's edge and enjoy the fantastic view as the sun goes down.
We will start the day very early and descend into the crater floor for an incredible morning of wildlife in one of the most stunning places on Earth. After the game drive, there will be time for a picnic lunch near the beautiful hippo Lake. After lunch, we will have time for a short game drive and then ascend the crater and exit Ngorongoro Conservation Area towards Arusha. We expect to be back in Arusha around 5:00 pm or 6.00 pm. After a long day Game drive, You will drive back to Arusha you will spend the night.
