A staff member of Kilipeak Adventure will pick you up from the Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). From here you will be driven to your hotel in Masailand Safari Lodge, which is beautifully located on the banana farms and is a perfect place to prepare safari.
We will gather in the hotel for a pre-safari briefing.
After breakfast, we will depart from Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park. The captivating park is situated at the foot of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. The park has an extensive amount of species due to the various distinctive habitats. The shores of Lake Manyara are obscured with the pink hues of the flamingo. The park is home to over three hundred and fifty bird species and exotic birds often migrate to this sanctuary. You can expect to see the Cape clawless otter, buffalo, elephants, Egyptian mongoose, hippos, giraffes, impalas, and Lake Manyara National Park has the largest concentration of baboons in the world. We will enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park and in the afternoon we will proceed to our Campsite, comprehensive camping facilities are available.
Early morning we will depart for the Serengeti National Park. The route we travel happens to pass the crater rim – there is a small prospect of spotting some game. The Serengeti is currently categorized as one of the seven natural wonders of Africa. We will stop for an enticing picnic lunch on a kopje (rock outcropping). After lunch, your game drive will venture further into the Serengeti to complete the tour for the day. The Serengeti Camp will ensure that you are provided with comprehensive camping facilities.
Another full day game drive is a good option this day to spot the nocturnal species and the diurnal ones as they rise for a new day. During the morning also many animals will easily be spotted by the sides of the tracks as they escape the morning dew, and enjoy the songs of the rising birds. Depending on the time that you season that you visit Serengeti you can be lucky to see the herds of the Great Wildebeests Migration (ask our experts for their location). Even without the wildebeest Migration herds in Serengeti; thousands of resident animals including buffaloes, leopards, cheetahs, lions, elephants, topis, Thompsons, and Grant’s gazelles, impalas, warthogs, and many bird species that never are resident to this incredible park.
Early breakfast then we start the day with an early morning game drive before heading to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Ngorongoro is a special place in that it is a Conservation Area, not a National Park; this means that the whole area is managed for both the animals and the local Masai people who graze their cattle alongside the indigenous wildlife. During the drive-in Ngorongoro, we have a chance to glimpse something of the Masai way of life. Finally, we descend into the crater. The crater walls provide a natural sanctuary for the animals, which means there is plenty to see: lions, elephants, buffalo, rhino, and leopard (if you are lucky). The only animal you won’t see here is a giraffe, whose long legs are unable to cope with the steeps sides of the crater. In the late afternoon, we travel back to Arusha.
Anytime after breakfast or lunch, we will drive direct to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your international flight back home or join another tour.
