Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) where an Back to eden adventure representative will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. Enjoy a comfortable stay with amenities including cozy rooms, hot showers, friendly staff, a swimming pool, and Internet access. Meet your guide and mountain crew in the morning for a brief before heading to Kilimanjaro National Park’s western entrance at Londorossi Gate (2,250 m / 7,380 ft). After completing formalities and obtaining permits, begin your trek to Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,650 m / 8,692 ft) through rainforest. Raincoats are essential. Once at camp, enjoy a prepared lunch and then embark on an acclimatization hike toward Shira 1 Camp, gaining 300 meters in altitude before returning to Mti Mkubwa Camp for a hot dinner.
Note: Acclimatization hikes help your body adjust to higher altitudes and reduce the risk of altitude sickness. Drink over 4 liters of water daily, consider preventive altitude sickness medication, and inform your guide if you experience any symptoms.

Wake up early for breakfast before starting your trek to Shira 1 Camp (3,610 m / 11,841 ft). The 5-6 hour trek offers stunning views of the Shira Plateau and Kibo Volcano. Upon arrival, enjoy lunch and some rest, or explore the surrounding area.

Depart Shira 1 Camp (3,610 m / 11,843 ft) and trek to Shira 2 Camp (3,850 m / 12,628 ft). Enjoy panoramic views of the African savannah and Kilimanjaro’s unique flora. Optionally, ascend Cathedral Peak (3,872 m / 12,703 ft) for breathtaking valley views. Upon reaching Shira 2 Camp, have lunch and rest before a brief acclimatization hike toward Lava Tower Camp.

After lunch at Lava Tower, descend to Barranco Camp (3,900 m / 12,795 ft) and marvel at the impressive Barranco Wall, which you’ll tackle the following day

Start your day with breakfast before climbing the Barranco Wall, which takes about an hour. Afterward, continue to Karanga Camp (3,990 m / 13,106 ft), navigating a route with ups and downs. Enjoy a warm lunch, then proceed on an acclimatization hike toward Barafu Camp.

Depart Barafu Camp (4,673 m / 15,327 ft) at night for the summit of Uhuru Peak (5,895 m / 19,336 ft). After reaching the peak, return to Barafu Camp for a short rest before descending to Millennium Camp (3,950 m / 12,956 ft).
